Thebe Exhibitions & Projects Group is very excited to have been awarded the exhibition management contract for the annual International Small Business Congress (ISBC) taking place at the Sandton Convention Centre from 15 - 18 September 2012.
The congress, which is being held in Africa for the first time since it was established in 1974, is a networking platform where global practitioners and policymakers of Small, Medium and Micro Enterprises (SMMEs) can meet to broaden knowledge and exchange information relating to the small business fraternity. It is aimed at improving small business practice globally and is an excellent platform for delegates from financial institutions, business support organisations, entrepreneurs, SMME agencies and bodies, and governments and trade associations to share their challenges and successes, and ultimately learn from one another.
The theme for the 2012 Congress, ‘Fostering small business in new and high-potential industries worldwide’, highlights next year’s focus on ensuring that SMMEs do not get left behind when it comes to participating in emerging industries and those with high growth prospects.
The exhibition, which will run alongside the congress, will showcase a number of small businesses and support programmes across various growth sectors. Partners for this pioneering congress include the Department of Trade and Industry (dti), City of Joburg, Small Enterprise Development Agency (SEDA), Khula Enterprise and Finance, Foundation for African Business and Consumer Services (FABCOS), World Association for Small and Medium Enterprise (WASME) and International Network for Small and Medium Sized Enterprises (INSME).
